How can the concept of an art exhibit be visually conveyed through a printed medium?

The intention behind developing this AR feature for Asisi's Pergamon Panorama exhibition magazine was to provide visitors with the opportunity to compare visual reconstructions created by artist Yadegar Asisi with original ancient pieces in their presumed state. In other words, to translate the essence of an exhibited object outside of its context using augmented reality.

In the exhibition magazine, the pages featuring two of the main exhibits – a robed statue and parts of the northern frieze of the world-famous Pergamon Altar – are brought to life through augmented reality. This can be done using any smartphone, allowing visitors to compare the artist's pieces with the archaeological reconstruction of the original finds.

This AR project is hosted on 8th Wall and can be experienced through the magazine of Asisi's Pergamon Panorama exhibition.
